Learning and Exploring

The family and I learned something new this week. I DO NOT like balloons. We went out to eat on Friday night at a place that gives out a balloons to all the kids. Mom tied mine onto the highchair and things were going alright until it got too close to me...

After inspecting it closely and having it attack my head (or maybe my mom bounced it off my head) I let go of it. Only it didn't really go away...

It just hovered there waiting to attack again. I asked my daddy if he could kindly remove the balloon from the vicinity and he quickly came to my aid.

Things got a little more fun when my cousin Meg and I took to the dance floor. There was no music playing but we shook our groove things just the same.

I also got to play video games. Well, I guess I didn't technically "play video games" but I did crawl all over some of them. My Aunt Jenni made sure I stayed safe.

Saturday I did some exploring in my bedroom. Under the watchful eye of Mom of course. I crawled over the vaporizer...

...behind the chair...

...and TA-DA, here I am hanging out with the pacifiers I found back there. Yes, I know there are cords RIGHT behind me. Like I said, "watchful eye of Mom".

More exploring ensued when I went to the Germaine's house later on Saturday. I found a cupboard in the hallway that houses my aunt's shoes. Some would say she has too many pairs but everybody needs to have a passion and Aunt Jenni's just happens to be footwear.

Saturday evening we went to Kevin, Kris, and Haley's house for Haley's birthday. (Kevin is Daddy's uncle and Godfather, Kris is his aunt, and Haley is his cousin). While Haley was opening gifts, I kept busy chewing on some beautiful pink ribbon.

Moneyload!! There was cake and ice cream and everybody thought I should try the ice cream. It was delicious!!

They say Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest. Here's Daddy and I having a rest on Mom and Dad's bed. He thought he could use me for a pillow and have a nap. As much as I would have loved to help him out it just wasn't working for me.

Mommy, Daddy and I had the funnest pillow fight today! Mommy and Daddy threw the pillows (at each other) and I did the laughing. It was lots of fun! We didn't get any action shots what with Mom and Dad throwing pillows and me not knowing how to work the camera, but here's Mom and me after the chaos died down...

And here is your video of the week. They say frog legs taste like chicken. I thought this one tasted like toy.

I hope everyone has a great week. Enjoy the warm weather. I think I'll go see if I can talk the parents into taking me for a stroller ride since we're having a tropical heat wave of 35 degrees!

Hugs and love!

Post Valentine Loves

A belated Happy Valentine's Day to my friends and family. Valentine's Day was pretty cool. We got to wear costumes to daycare for the special holiday so I wore my Nebraska Cornhusker Football Cheerleader outfit. It even earned me an award for the best cheerleader. I scored a whole bunch of goodies-candy, cookies, heart-shaped zebra cakes. Heck if I can find any of it though. I think my parents stole it all, but I haven't got any hard evidence to take to the authorities yet.

Life gets so hairy sometimes I just have to pause and gather my thoughts...

We had a special visitor at our house over the weekend. Tati came to stay with us. She lives at Grandma Jan and Grandpa Bob's house. Everybody says she's a peekaboo but she sure doesn't know how to play peekaboo like I do.

Honestly, I can't figure out how I feel about Tati. She freaks me out sometimes but other times I want her to be by me. Mommy is trying to teach me how to be friends with her. Mommy likes to cuddle with her and pet her and play with her. I'm not there yet, but I'm working on it.

So my parents got a new table at IKEA and I got plopped into the empty box.

I tried and tried and tried but never did manage to get out of there by myself. Good thing I was pretty content to stay in there until people were done taking my picture for blog purposes and could spare a moment to pluck me out.

Today was President's Day and Mommy had the day off of work. It was pretty cold outside so we just hung out at the house all day and played fun games like peekaboo. (Shoot, I should have invited Tati over so I could teach her how to play! Argh, I'll have to remember next time.)

PEEKABOO!

I think you'll like the video I've chosen for you this week. See, I've been working real hard on my walking skills. This video shows me taking about three steps. My record is nine steps. Watch out world!!!

Here I Am!!!

Sorry about being so late again people. There's just so much to do around here some days and I just can't get to the computer long enough to get a post in.
Here's what has been keeping me busy:
1. Learning how to make kissing noises.
2. Learing how to say "uh-oh".
3. Learning that it's really funny to drop my bottle over and over and over from the cart at Target when I'm shopping with Mommy.
4. Eating new foods like Cheerios, macoroni and cheese, meatloaf, scalloped potatoes and baked beans.
5. Trying to walk. Last night I think I took four steps from Daddy to Mommy. Hard to know though since I don't know how to count yet.
6. Drinking bath water...

I finally decided to have an interest in all of my stuffed animals this week. I got to know them real well when I got inside their home with them.

Mommy introduced me to a new activity-indoor mountain climbing. She throws all the pillows off the couch onto the floor and covers them with a blanket. Mommy says Ms. Adrienne (an occupational therapist at Mommy's work) says it's great for core strengthening, and everbody needs that, especially babies. I plan to have all my muscles strong so I can have phenomanal gross motor skills, fine motor skills, and articulation skills. It all ties together y'see.

I love my webcam. Here I am chatting it up with Grandma Trish and Grandpa Steve.

Well peeps, it's a busy life I lead and it's time I go get back to it. Time to jet off to daycare and hang out with my friends.

Peace and love!

Super Busy Week

It was a Super Busy Week around our house!!! Daddy had to do some traveling. He got to go to the super exciting town of Sioux Falls, South Dakota for a super exciting trade show. Mommy had a super fun time having approximately 30 super conferences during two 12-hour work days. The truly super part of that was that she got to be off last Friday and stay home with me. That made the fact that I decided we should have a super rendevous at 4:30 AM kindof alright (because Mommy could go back to her super bed after I decided to do so). Here's a picture of super-tired me during the 4:30 AM rendevous...Mommy had to make me a super bottle because a fresh diaper and lullabyes were not doing the trick, so she plopped me on the kitchen floor with some super kitchen tools.

Now here I am a little later in the day after I'd gotten the adequate amount of sleep. I look much better when well rested, I must say. In this picture I was pulling the super great trick of opening my dresser drawer all by myself and rummaging around in it. Mommy was not super impressed.
Ah yes, the super sippy cup. I still haven't really figured out what to do with it besides thrash it around and make messes.
Grandma Trish came to town and she brought me Valentine cookies!!! You guessed it, they were super!

Grandma Trish, Grandpa Steve, Mommy, Daddy and I went over to Greatgrandpa Larry's house for dinner. My cousin Haley was there. We had some super times exploring the house.

Grandpa had this super thingamajigger on his shirt. I guess it's called a zipper. Whatever, I just liked pulling it down. Then Grandpa would pull it up so I could pull it down again. And again. And again. You get the picture...

It was super funny to talk to Granpa upside down.

On Saturday G'ma, G'pa, Mom and Dad drove to Rochester for a wedding. I stayed in South St. Paul and Grandma Jan and Grandpa Bob's house. On Sunday our house was a whirlwind of activity with my parents busily preparing for a Super Bowl Party so I decided I could help out by unpacking my suitcase. Unfortunately I couldn't get much further than pushing the handle down.

My cousins came over for the Super Bowl Party. We hung out in the basement and I got to have wagon rides. We were a bit limited by the fact that there wasn't room to turn around but we had super lots of laughs anyways.

My mom was super excited when she found divided plates for babies that weren't covered in some kind of licensed cartoon characters. (Mommy is a little crazy and refuses to purchase baby items with licensed characters unless she absolutely has to. Apparently they annoy her....?) So anyways, she found these solid colored plates, which also happened to be super cheap, and brought them home. She loaded one up with cubes of cheese and green beans, and here's what happened...

Note that the plate is missing from the final photograph in the sequence. She dumped all of the food off and tossed the plate to the side while mumbling something about "maybe next month..." I didn't really see what the problem was. Was my behavior inappropriate? Come to think of it, I guess I've never seen anybody else pick up their plate and try to pour the food in their mouths. Well there's always next month I guess.

That was our super busy week. I hope everyone out there has been having super weeks as well. Love and hugs and all that to my adoring fans.
